Shipper and Shipper Service 1.2 Beta 1 Release

The first beta releases of Shipper 1.2, Shipper Service for BVC2004 1.2, and Shipper Service for StoreFront 1.2 are now available. You should not use a beta release for production. They are practically guaranteed to have bugs. On the other hand, if you want an early peek at the new features, and perhaps some influence of how the bugs are resolved, then by all means…have at it!

The Shipper 1.2 installer will upgrade your Shipper 1.1 installation if you have one. After installation, you will only have Shipper 1.2 installed. If you want to go back to Shipper 1.1, you will have to un-install Shipper 1.2 and then re-install Shipper 1.1.

Similarly, Shipper Service 1.2 uses the same file names as Shipper Service 1.1. After installing Shipper Service 1.2 on your web site, you will no longer be able to access the site with Shipper 1.1. If you want to go back to Shipper Service 1.1, you will have to re-install the Shipper Service 1.1 files.

Shipper 1.2 only works with Shipper Service 1.2. Likewise, Shipper 1.1 only works with Shipper Service 1.1.

New Shipper 1.2 Features

• Support for FedEx Ship Manager in addition to UPS WorldShip.
• Support for Tablet PC and pen input.
• Export to Excel button creates a native Excel file of all shipments.
• CSV format added to print formats for exporting to other programs.
• Immediate ship button added to Quick Ship! Previously shipments could only be added to the Outbox for updating during next send/receive.
• Billing address, shipment handling charge, shipment tax charge, and shipment total charge added to data that is pulled from the underlying store so that a complete invoice can be created.

New Shipper Service 1.2 Features

• Several new advanced filters.
• “Remember Me” feature added to Shipper Service Configuration Page.
