ANN: Shipper 1.3 Beta 1 with support for Endicia Galaxy Ship
A lot of people asked for Endicia support (more than Stamps and DHL put together). And here it is! Here's the thing that amazed me...it only took one week! This is mostly due to the way Endicia designed Galaxy Ship...it was very easy to understand and use.
Each carrier's software has different limitations and Galaxy Ship is no different. The biggest limitation right now is that Shipper can not pass the Mail Class to Galaxy Ship (or rather Galaxy Ship does not import it). That means that you will need to select the mail class after you import the shipment into Galaxy Ship.
There are also 2 changes in Shipper that you should know about. The first is that the fields called BillToName, ShipFromName, and ShipToName have been renamed to BillToCompany, ShipFromCompany, and ShipToCompany. If you wrote a custom print format, you will need to change it to use the new field names. See Packing Slips.xml and Invoices.xml for examples.
The second change is that you now control the carrier reference field from inside Shipper. Prior versions of Shipper shipped with two import maps for both FedEx and UPS. One import map used the unique shipment ID assigned by Shipper and the other used the Order Number. Galaxy Ship only supports one import map, so I moved the decision (ShipmentID or OrderNumber) from the carrier software to Shipper. To select the field you would like to use, select Tools > Options > Carriers and set the reference field for each carrier. It defaults to OrderNumber.
This is beta software (hardly tested), so use it with care. It works well here...but you are not here, so your milage may vary.
