CSO List of Top 5 Data Breaches of 2005
In Data Drains, CSO lists the top 5 data breaches in 2006. Together they could affect over 35 million people.
A lot of online merchants that talk to me want to store credit card numbers and sometimes even the security code. My advice is always the same...don't do it!
No matter what technology you put in place, the weakest link will always be people. The largest breach, at the Veterans Affairs Department, occurred when a laptop was stolen from an employee's home. No software can stop that.
